Make sure the IPv4 settings are set to "Shared to other computers" in the Network Connections dialog for the Ubuntu computer.

For the Windows computer, it's safe to automatically obtain IP and DNS servers in the LAN card TCP/IP settings.

Use ipconfig in Windows, and connect Nautilus to this IP (smb://windows_ip)
